@AlmostThere2018 Your son should send in his scores if they are good before the app is reevaluated in the RD round. Also after he has received his grades from this semester he should send those in and send a letter of continued interest (LOCI) indicating that Rice continues to be his first choice and that he will attend if admitted along with any update on honors, extracurricular activities, etc. that may not have been featured on his ED application.
Just got accepted also!

Congratulations to all selected in ED.
Does anyone know the scholarship process? Will there be another communication? Is there a separate application? Separate Forum?
Congratulations to all admitted ED!! All applicants are automatically considered for merit scholarships. There is no separate merit scholarship application process. However, Rice does not give out many merit scholarships. Rice tries to meet full financial need (as Rice defines it). In the past if a student received a merit scholarship, there was a link at the bottom of the acceptance letter that took you to another letter that detailed the scholarship. If there is no link, you aren’t getting a merit scholarship. The financial aid comes in a separate communication from the financial aid office. Questbridge admits, 57 this year, get full scholarships.
My son received an early decision financial aid offer. Consists of Rice investment grant and total grants and scholarships. Anyone else get the same. Wondering if final financial packages are decided after RD.
