looking at last year, they posted the decisions at 5pm (Central) on Monday 3/24. So if they release on Monday again, it would follow that it won’t be until 5pm Central, 6pm Eastern.
@Overclasshero why do you think one hour? I hope you’re right, but last year I think they were released at 5:00 pm Rice’s time (central).
So, is there any email announcement in advance? Or, the information is just transmitted word of mouth?
My friend applied ED this year, and the decision came out around 4:00-5:00 pm, so I would assume it would be later afternoon for this as well.
I think I read somewhere that last year at 5:00, emails were sent out at the same time as the portal was updated.

I was checking around the past decision discussions and the class of 2016 got em at 6PM GMT. (it’s 6:25 right now for me)

For ED, an email was sent to me at 4:01 central time. The email gives you a link to the admission status page where you log in. From there, it says on the page “Status Update: An update to your application was last posted (date)” and there’s a link that says “view update>>” under it. The link takes you to your letter which will then say whether you are accepted/waitlisted/rejected.
Perhaps it’s just not coming today?

I think typically they send them out at 5pm ct–think about it, this is when the admissions office closes. I was surprised to hear so early about ED
