***Rice University RD Class of 2019 Discussion***

decisions aren’t posted again

Jk I would make sounds similar to those of a manatee giving birth to an elephant hybrid. Tbh

Well actually a lot of schools in Los Angeles get out at 2 on Tuesday, but I agree :slight_smile:

@rippedfishnets‌ Usually decisions come out at the hour admissions offices close. So at the New England schools, decisions are often posted at 5pm EST because that’s when they close.

If you are planning a trip early, please check with the school regarding the dates for Owl Days. They may be doing things differently this year.
Good luck to everyone.

I know this isn’t really “on topic” but, I won a big award at my school today, and so I hope that they come out today because if I don’t get in it’s like “Oh well, I already won that other thing” or if I do get in it’s like “Yay! A double happy day!”

@kwebb33 Double Rainbow - all the way!

Waiting to hear back from the Architecture school at Rice. I’m not really that worried if I don’t get accepted - which I’m not expecting to. I got denied by the University of Texas at Austin. But Syracuse University and Virginia Tech both accepted me into their architecture programs so I’m not really sweating it so much… good luck to everyone though!

@skdoss congrats on your acceptances!

So…I guess they’re not coming out today?

Guessing it isn’t today

here comes the 3rd round of waiting …

Has anyone called admissions to ask when they’re announcing? Sometimes they will tell you, or give you a good estimation of when.

Well. That was anti-climactic. I seriously wonder when they’re going to release it…

Not saying it’s turned me off from wanting to attend, but I really wish that Rice would just give us a date. Plenty of other (equally selective) colleges do; it’s a little…I don’t know. Not rude, but something along those lines. I’m going to be spending every day this week walking on eggshells.

HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO ME?

I GIVE YOU SEVEN MONTHS OF MY LIIIIFE AND YOU BETRAY ME?

(The Room reference :wink:)

@Qwerty568 I agree with you. But part of me is glad that admissions are different from those at the University of Texas at Austin. They released in waves, so a portion would find out every week or so. Which left everyone that applied on the edge of their seats every week. But they didn’t issue denials till after everyone was accepted. So that meant some of us that were denied were left hoping for all of the waves of decisions released…

Ughhhhhhhh I was so hopeful for today

@skdoss–That is so cruel!

This is extremely frustrating. I don’t want to be on my computer at 5 PM everyday this week and next.
