If anyone sees any updates with today’s date on their financial aid documents please let me know. I’m really hoping my waiver is somehow approved in the next five hours but yeah I’m guessing I was rejected

What waiver are you referencing?

someone on reddit said their financial aid updated this morning

I don’t have any contact with my father so I had to send a waiver requesting that they waive his financial information, but it is still “in review” leading me to believe I’m rejected since I sent the request in January:(

Ohh okay I see, I wouldn’t worry about it too much, I’ve seen people stress about their Finaid portals in regards to admissions and it turned out to be some random coincidence in the end

I hope so. It’s just they couldn’t make a financial aid package for for me if they didn’t waive the requirement bc otherwise they would have emailed me to have him fill out the CSS profile (something I would not have been able to do) but they just haven’t made a decision at all/ looked at it. And I heard that they told someone else they only review waivers for applicants they accept…

I’ve lived in the Houston area most of my life and graduated from Rice many years ago. Houston (including Rice) is a diverse and vibrant city. Of course, as a diverse city, you’ll find people with differing ideologies. I’m sure your child would find a welcoming atmosphere and find different people who share the same interests. Best wishes!

I’m sorry :slightly_frowning_face: I hope that what you heard isn’t true, but I wish you the best regardless

Thank you! I hope so too as it’s essentially my last hope to leave Ohio since Brown is nearly impossible. Case western is a great school but I just really want to leave the state lol.
I hope you get a great decision tonight

Gah that sounds terrible to someone like me who has never had to think that way, but I definitely can’t knock it as I’ve not lived there. Houston seems like a cool city. And I loved both San Antonio and Austin when I visited them.

I agree that Houston is very diverse. I have family that loves there, and I have stayed with them a few times over the summer. I live in a pretty small suburb that is not diverse and I really loved the diversity (coming from a black female)

I wasn’t going to check and just wait until 5, but…yes, I can still see the financial aid page with checks next to required items. Not going to speculate. FA could just be updating some files today. Hang tight!

wait I thought we could all access our financial aid page?

last night some were able to access their financial aid package, but this morning it went back to the way it was with just the checklist
