Congratulations to those accepted!
Our DD was accepted. We see our FA came out to be a full ride (?!?) with Rice Grant and Trustee scholarship, making our Net Cost as $0. Did anybody else get the full ride? We are a bit confused since we didn’t expect it or didn’t know how generous the FA would be.
Son rejected. Congrats to all accepted!
Anyone have the statistical breakdown for Rice?
D21 accepted by Rice, rejected by USC. 36 ACT/1570 SAT. She was accepted by GT and UIUC too.
Yeah, I got a full-ride too with the scholarship! Congrats!
Congratulations!
Daughter admitted!
Thank you so much
Congrats to your Daughter. My S21 Accepted to USC, Waitlisted at Rice, Accepted to Northwestern, Georgia Tech, Emory, UMich, UC Berkeley and a whole host of others. It must truly be about fit, since all these amazing kids would do well at any of these schools.
My daughter rejected - TO - she submitted her AP (4 5s, a four and a three). 3.98/4.53. Her ACT was a 32 superscore so she decided against submitting.
Rice was the super stretch - so while it would have been nice it was expected.
We are down to U of SC Honors, College of Charleston Honors, Arizona Honors, FSU, and Washington & Lee. The process continues. Good luck to all.
Son got in!!!
Congratulations!
Thank you! No FA but that’s ok
Got it as well!! Same scholarship!
So here’s the deal. Son only applied to 5 schools. Got into all so far, just waiting for one more. His top 2 are Tulane Honors and Rice (was waitlisted at Upenn, where his older sibling goes). We don’t know what to do??? We’re getting on a plane tomorrow as a family to visit Tulane for honors preview. This is much more confusing then we thought. Any help is much appreciated
Curious, for those that did not get in unfortunately, where DID you get accepted and where will you end up?
Columbia lol
My S was rejected. Rice was his only reject out of 10. Most were what we would consider safeties on the admit side, but the most competitive besides Rice were Kenyon (accepted with $25k merit scholarship), and U Chicago (accepted with merit + financial aid, where I think he will end up). So you just never know how it will shake out with these stretch schools. I hope no one here takes it personally if you weren’t accepted. There just isn’t enough space for all the qualified applicants, but if you’re competitive for Rice, you’ll definitely find a place somewhere else! Most likely you’ll never look back once you start your freshman year.
Congrats to your son too. He has done great! This is a crazy year.
Twin boys Human Biology and PT majors accepted to UCLA, Berkeley, and USC (just now) and merit scholarships to Case Wester, but rejected to Rice. So sad since Rice was one of their top choices… We did not apply for any financial aid.
