Rice vs. Johns Hopkins vs. UPenn

Hello everyone! I’m a junior in high school, and I was wondering which of these schools would be best for me. I plan on majoring in biology and continuing onto med school (so solid grades are definitely a priority), but I’m also interested in undergraduate research opportunities, studying abroad in France, and participating on a parliamentary debate team. I also want a school that isn’t extremely intense (i.e. students work hard, but also know how to relax and have fun).

Also let me know if there is anything I need to look out for when I’m visiting these schools this spring.

Thanks!

Just based off of what I hear from other people, I would say Johns Hopkins is probably not the best option because almost everyone I ask say it’s a very competitive cutthroat atmosphere, especially for premed. I think that UPenn and Rice are both two great options for social experiences though, and just as good for premed

Rice is amazing for premed. It’s right next to the huge Texas Medical Center so there are a lott of opportunities

Both Penn and Rice are great choices. I agree with what was previously written about competitiveness at JHU for premeds.
