Rice vs UT Honors

Hi, I am new to the forums.

I have been accepted to both Rice and the UT Honors Engineering program. I plan to major in biomedical engineering, and these are my two top schools. The problem is that Rice is costing me about $40k per year and UT is about $20k per year. Is there a major difference between the qualities of education I'd receive? I plan to go on to a graduate level school after undergrad, but I don't know what discipline (ie, I don't know if I want to go to Med school).

Are there any good words of advice?

If you're going to grad school, i don't think your undergrad would matter. the advantages of Rice are the campus, research opps, and quality of students/diversity. the advantages of UT are that it's relatively cheap, its one of the best in engineering, and its located in the music capital. im not gonna list the disadvantages. as for academics and what you learn, if you have determination, you will succeed wherever you go.

now its your choice to decide, is spending 20k more worth it?

UT. The money you could have saved (assuming not loan) will come very handy in grad school or med school. You really need to dig hard to see what Rice provides than you can't seek @ Austin.
