does anyone know about how many people from rice (are there alot) that are from new jersey? do they acept alot of them or are there alotta applicants from it.

theres probably not that many from new jersey. Im not sure of exactly how many. But when rice admits 41% of out of state applicants, you have an advantage.

super cool thankyou bumpp

misterme can you elaborate on that stat as you wrote it. is the admit rate for out of state applicants 41% (which seems high), or is 41% of the class out of state (which seems reasonable). if it is the first case, that is amazing, if it is the second, that does not give you an advantage without knowing the percentage of out of state applicants. for example if equal numbers apply from both in state and out of state, and only 41% of the body got in from out of state, thats a clear disadvantage.

The latter is correct - 41% of the students at Rice are from out-of-state.

no, i heard, Rice admits 40 percent of the students that apply from out of state, it's a huge advantage. The yield is much lower for out of state than in texas.

whoa, are you kids the same person? did you correct yourself?

Here are the facts:

50% of Rice's students are out of state. And it does admit about 41% of out of state students. Look at this article

That stat is in the article somewhere near the bottom.

Thanks for the clarification mister. Sorry for the misleading information!

whoa, 41% total means ED/EA is even higher than that. kind of disappointed now.

mmm. awesomense

Sleepbabi -

I'm Rice '09 from NJ, no idea how many there are though.

godesiree, what other schools did you pick Rice over, I got into Rice, but I just thought it was reallly far from my house down in Texas, not really popular w. my faith lol.
