rich?

How rich is the average student at michigan?

Uh...the majority comes from households of $100,000 or more. However, there are some poorer students, like me. ;-)

I honestly am pretty unaware of how rich most of the people I know are, but I think most of them as middle class to upper middle class.

Well actually how mucy money people have isnt really my concern. I'm more interested in knowing how much money do students spend on average per week for entertainment.

Ohhhhh...I spent waaaayyyyyyy too much on clothes and food and school supplies...I'm not going to announce how much I spent on the internet because I'll look like the most spoiled brat ever. In my defense, I'm from Alabama, and I had a hard time figuring out what to wear...as in buying jackets, sweaters, long underwear, hats, scarves, boots, etc....from all the wrong places at all the wrong prices.

I'm not talking about clothes or school supplies I mean for going out at night

In my hall in Markley, most of the kids came from $100,000+ backgrounds. I'm going down my hall, and of the 30 guys or so from my area, I'd say less than a third of them were from less than that.

Entertainment on the weekend? I went out to dinner a few times during the year and to the movies once. Other than that, parties are free. If you join a fraternity, you'll have to pay social dues.

as for going out, you really can't tell.

most of the house parties are free, and the clubs like touchdown's, skeeps, and studio.. you don't really see people being flashy buying expensive bottles of liquor.

you will see A LOT of unnecessarily nice cars on campus though.. mostly driven by rich korean international students. you won't see them at the usual hot spots on campus though. they do their own thing.

Lol, yeah. In front of West Quad last semester, I saw a student with a Bentley. Don't think he was Korean though. -_-

I haven't noticed any nice cars...

I think having a car on campus is scary. When my dad went to Michigan, he apparently parked his car on the street overnight and it was stuck there...for three months...he waited till the ice and snow melted to get it out.

***reak ppl at U of M are that wealthy? I'm guessing alot of the students at Michigan come from prep schools then or something

I saw a Bentley and a Maserati once as well. I knew one really rich kid who drove a complete beater also.

a kid from my school, who's heading to michigan as well, is bringing his red ferrari with him...look out for him

I came from prep school, but I think the majority of Michigan students came from big public schools in wealthy suburbs.

i hope that ferrari gets keyed and his tires slashed. sorry.

...why? sigh.

well...i think he'll just buy a new one...like one per day... ironically, someone from the ford's family doesnt use ford but ferrari :p

But what if he's a really nice person? No one wants their nice car all ruined and stuff...

Is this kid in the Ford family or is a parent an executive? I didn't think that Ford family people came to Michigan.

my family is in the upper 100,000 range, I think 180k?

Most of my friends that go to U-M range from 80k - 300k. There's one family with 3.3 mil though... -_-;;
