I think my mail person decided not to show up. We still have flags up ??♀️
Reading a thread from last year it seems that you can still be considered for Richmond Scholar Award even if you received the 1/3 tuition merit.
Also deferred. 1400 SAT, 3.9, varsity water polo, tons of leadership, lots of extracurriculars.
Accepted. Nothing about Presidential Scholarship so I guess didn’t get. I don’t think Richmond offers other merit aid, do they, besides the Richmond Scholar Award (which I’m sure is not happening given that I didn’t get the Presidential Scholarship)?
Accepted today!
4.0 unweighted GPA, school doesn’t do weighted. 1480 SAT (790 English), 8 APs (4 senior year).
Varsity and JV volleyball 5 years, captain 2 years. Little volunteer activity, but interested. Part time job during junior and sophomore years. JV basketball four years.
I thought I had been rejected because I accessed the portal and someone else’s name popped up. They probabl just don’t have all the accounts in yet so they pop up with the closest result if you’ve been accepted.
No notice of Presidential scholarship or aid.
The mail finally came and it’s a big envelope! ? I can’t wait for my DS to get home!
I didn’t get a letter, but the down payment link works for me. Does that mean I got in?
Seems yes but does another name pop up on the right side of screen?
Was it required for students to send in first quarter grades in order for their application to be evaluated? My daughter didn’t get an email about it but I noticed the checkbox was empty on her application checklist. I assume it was her responsibility to check on that and get it done. We didn’t get anything in the mail today so I’m wondering if her application was considered incomplete because of this and therefore she won’t get in, at least not EA. Just curious if anyone else knows. We’re in CA so maybe her decision will come tomorrow. Her payment portal is not active either.
@pwboko They actually sent two reminder emails to my S requesting the grades. The first time I requested them from the guidance counselor and he submitted them through our Naviance system. About two weeks ago, we got another notice saying this was still outstanding so GC emailed them a copy of grades and cc:d me so there was proof that it was sent. Have her GC send them in right away!
Yes, Shannon Spicer. That’s so weird didn’t notice until now.
Daughter got deferred. 1390 SAT Top 7% of her class 3.9 GPA unweighted, tons of extracurricular activities and leadership, community service etc… Deferred is better than rejected. Seems like from what I am reading above that they were highly selective on the EA round. U Richmond is a GREAT SCHOOL. Congrats to those who got in, for the ones that got deferred like my daughter don’t fret, deferred doesn’t mean rejected. A good percentage of students who get deferred end up getting in so hand in there. I am from Boston Massachusetts for those of you that are waiting for letters.
Still waiting in Connecticut. Does USPS informed delivery scan large envelopes? The suspense is killing me, lol.
@Ctdoctor - USPS does not scan large envelopes. So, the absence of a small envelope from Richmond in your Informed Delivery is a positive thing. That was what happened with my son yesterday — no small envelope in the scan and then large envelope showed up at the door.
Accepted yesterday.
from NY, 34 ACT, 95 weighted average in mostly APs, very good extracurriculars, very good letters of rec
Haven’t hear anything about scholarships either but I think that comes later.
Thank you! Congratulations to your son. Richmond is a beautiful school and from the numbers I;m seeing in these posts, it has become extremely competitive.
Accepted with a Presidential Scholarship from VA!
4.47 weighted GPA and 35 ACT one sitting. Girl Scouts and lots of community based extracurriculars, rigorous course load, good essays. Was unsure about what my admissions decision would be but am very happy.
Congrats to those accepted, best wishes to those deferred, and for all - you will find a place where you belong be it Richmond or not :-bd
Accepted from Georgia with Presidential Scholarship. 4.0 Unweighted GPA (5 AP classes) and 34 ACT one sitting. Super grateful.
Curious about how many of those who were accepted EA plan on attending and if not what schools you are waiting on?
@cavitee richmond is my top but unfortunately for me it is all about where i get the most money haha. i have been accepted at south carolina’s honors college with instate tuition ($84k), and am waiting on UVA and VT. my mom made me apply to harvard for kicks too but i’m pretty sure i know how that’ll end! :)) so far i have a presidential scholarship from richmond, but still waiting for that need based aid and hopefully a richmond scholars!!
