<p>I want to study politics and go on to be an international lawyer. I loved all three of these schools for different reasons.
Richmond
Pro-small, gorgeous campus, its free plus I get a $3,000 for anything. I was offered an internship with a History professor studying civil rights museams. Former governor Mark Warner sits on the commision, so I would also get to meet her., D.C. initiative, and greek life, plus research opportunities
Cons- not a lot of diversity, its very much the same type of school i have gone to for most of my life, not in D.C.
Claremont McKenna
Pro-small, Southern California lifestyle, the beach, amazing school for politics and economics, 90%law school placement, its free, washington semester program, JD law program with Columbia University, atheneaum(speakers forum that has housed newt gingrich, spike lee), ex government officials for faculty, got offer possibility to go abroad and intern at the Hague b/c a professor has a friend there, 11 research institute for my various passions-- human rights, local and state governments, great party scene
Cons-- not in D.C., really far from my family, I live in Northeast Ohio, really small, campus is not as pretty
Georgetown
Pro- medium size university, in D.C. one of the world's greatest cities, has the best professors(aka Donna Brazile, Madeline Albright), easiest place to get political internships, it is my dream school, many political figures come to speak at Georgetown (John Kerry, Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, JOhn McCain, everyone) i love the campus, i like the diversity of the school
COn- dont know about the money situation, maybe too big for me, don't have a garunteed internship, i don't know if I have full ride, the party scene is dependent on the upperclassmen, no frats</p>
<p>"Former governor Mark Warner sits on the commision, so I would also get to meet her..."</p>
<p>MW is a a him, not a her.</p>
<p>I meant his wife is on the commision so i would get to meet him through her. Sorry i forgot to check for typos.</p>
<p>based on your interests, Georgetown would be my bet. It's a fantastic school; I took summer courses there while in high school. It's also in more of a charged location than your other options. Good luck.</p>
<p>Tough to give up a free ride among similar schools, heh??? Unless money were no object, I would go with those who put up the cash...
Plus, UR has great connections with DC even though it is 1.5 hours outside of town.</p>
<p>Georgetown was my 1st choice..definitely Georgetown over Richmond, are you in SFS or the College? I applied EA to SFS was deferred and then rejected. Congrats though! It'll be a tough decision, they're all good schools!</p>
<p>The College</p>
<p>Is Gtown giving you aid of any sort?</p>
<p>I would have to pay 7, 000 a year. Which isn't bad but next to free is just doesn't seem to be worth it?</p>
<p>Gtown for 7,000 a year is really good! The thing about Georgetown is that it's right in the heart of politics...you'll get great internships, have some great shopping (which is pretty important in my opinion). With Georgetown you can transfer from the college to SFS if you wanted to and study international politics or you can stay in the college and major in govt. Obviously I'm really biased towards Gtown but all the schools are good. Go where you feel will make you happy!</p>
<p>Just make your own damn decision. If you got into those schools, I assume you have the little amount of intelligence required to pick a school.</p>
