I emailed them.

Bummer. Well, congratulations to everyone who is a semifinalist!

theman44 is, according to his other posts, a high school senior, so it is doubtful he works at UR and emailed them. His latest posts were that he got in UNC, etc.

Investor–when theman44 stated, “I emailed them,” he didn’t mean that he emailed the last wave of Richmond Scholar semifinalist notices out to the recipients; he meant that he emailed the University of Richmond to find the answer.

Theman44–I’m a worrying mom, so I worry when students reveal their real names on a message board. I understand why you did (you were responding to Investor’s misconception), but it might be a good idea to start using a new screen name now or to ask the moderators to take down the post with your real name.

Thanks for clarifying. But…Theman44 did not reveal his name to me. I am confused on that comment. There was no response other than yours.

^Theman44’s post immediately before mine has now been deleted, which is good. The deleted post contained a copy of the email he had sent to URichmond, as well as the admission office’s response stating that the last wave has been sent. Those emails contained his real name.

Has anyone received the invitation to the Scholars Competition weekend? I can’t remember when the invitation notices went out. But I think it is soon…

For future applicants:

I was notified of Richmond Scholars status as well, but had to rescind my application for I was admitted to my top choice school ED.

Hmm…guess ill never know how far I would’ve gotten. Oh well, everything worked out for the better. Congrats to everyone who has been accepted/selected for semi-finalist status, Richmond is a great, beautiful school!

creativecrew, the richmond admissions website’s blog says that finalist notification will come out mid-late february, and the finalists are the ones going on to the weekend for interviews and such.

Finalist! Found out today around 3:00pm!

If I have not received anything, I am rejected ?

babyboom, i haven’t gotten my stuff yet either :/

I have just read a last-year thread, and I jump to a conclusion that all finalist will be notified in a day lol. So if we have not received anything, we are likely to be rejected. And the rejected people will be notified about their rejection 2 days after the list of finalists come out.

Hi, are you a Richmond Scholar? I am an international student, and I received an email from U Richmond to notifiy me as a finalist… But I am not sure whether I should go or not because I am not living in US… and will the airticket fees be covered as well?

Thank you! :)

S2 - artist scholar finalist. So excited!

@lichun2644 - you should definitely go! the University of Richmond pays for your flight and all your food there, and you stay with a student who currently goes to U of R (your “host student”). it pretty much all-expenses paid. however, you might have to get a visa, depending what country you live in, so if you plan on going you should try to get that soon. if not, I read in the scholars email (or site? I can’t remember) that you can have a skype interview, although that’s definitely not ideal in my opinion
