This news is amazing lol. I thought I was gonna have to spend all night filling out the CSS and FAFSA but now I have a whole month to procrastinate! Yayyayaya

wow, that's good to know.

of course, i already rushed through completing the FASFA yesterday.

there is a way we can update it when new tax info is available, right?

haha, i did the EXACT same thing. i was freaking out yesterday, and i dragged my mom to the computer to fill out the FAFSA and the WashU financial profile (btw, SO happy that they gave me one last CSS PROFILE to pay for).

From what I know, colleges (and the gov i assume) will calculate your financial aid based on the information you gave them on the FAFSA. later on, they'll ask for your 2008 tax returns, and if there's too much of a difference, then they'll make adjustments.

my FAFSA and WashU profile were a REALLY rough estimate, because my dad was unemployed last year and has only been working for 6 months, so the best i could do was multiply his hourly wage X his number of hours per week X 26 weeks, and then add that to my mom's yearly earnings.

that FAFSA was making me feel incredibly poor. after i finished it, it estimated my expected family contribution to be 0. haha, i guess that's good in a way, but it was also pretty depressing.
