Riding zee buses.

Thanks vach. I wish there was a huge map with all the buildings outlined rather than showing pieces of small areas.

This map is a little bit better. [Maps - Accessibility](http://www.utexas.edu/maps/main/access/index.html)

There are paper ones you can get on campus that show all the buildings…but I can’t remember where I got mine.

Thanks…I’m awful at gauging distances from a map. I’ll probably end up dropping a class then.

If you need the classes, don’t let something like being late to class be the deciding factor. I’m definitely a glutton for punishment and trek campus back and forth like a psycho just so I don’t have downtime between classes. Profs can be very understanding that you have to walk really far to get to class as long as you tell them at the beginning of the semester, and you make an effort to show up and not disturb the class when you’re late.

And some classes are so big they never notice if you are late anyway. The only issue would be missing some sort of important announcement at the beginning of class.

If you want a paper map that shows all of campus, go to the main desk in the tower. They have stacks of them there. Also I saw LOTS of people carrying these maps around the first week of classes, so don’t feel embarassed if you have to carry one. I found it helpful to highlight my classes and practice walking to them a few days before classes started. I even found the classrooms, which lowered my stress level considerably when classes began. Sometimes classes are hidden or in an obscure corner somewhere, so it helps to find them beforehand.

^ I plan on doing that.

I’d suggest using one of the days before class to find the locations of all your buildings and the classes. That way you can find the right doors to use on the buildings, and know where you are going for sure.

maybe UT should consider developing an iphone app for the interactive map

^ They do have an iPhone app, and it does have a map.

oh okay. how do I download it?

Go to the App Store on your iPhone. Type ‘Texas’ in the searchbar.

It should say the University of Texas, and the icon is a Longhorn. It’s a free application.

It also has the following features:

News
Maps
Directory (faculty and students)
Multimedia (videos and photos)
Events, which you can also narrow down by subject
Landmarks, based on a map
Sports
Extras (puzzles, songs, and traditions)
Tower Talk

You also have the ability to add shortcuts to certain news categories and sports teams.
