<p>It's strange. I was visiting San Francisco, so my older brother took me around Berkeley and showed me all the places he hung out at when he went to Cal. We saw the "happy happy happy!" guy at Sproul Plaza, and talked about him at dinner. That sparked a discussion about the crazy people from when he attended, including Andrew Martinez, a.k.a. "The Naked Man." </p>
<p>The next morning my mom said, "I read an article in the Chronicle that mentioned that guy...uhh..'The Naked Man.' He commit suicide." I thought maybe she had just read about another random nudist...but I looked it up, and lo and behold it was him. I thought it was a little eerie.</p>
<p>Oh, poor naked man. But didn't he really go to UCSC, and come to Berkeley for one semester on the inter-UC transfer program? And why does he not have a wikipedia article devoted to him? Someone should get on that.</p>
<p>EDIT: he does, but it's under his name, not "Naked man." Anyone know how to link it?</p>
<p>Huh. Did anyone here ever get a chance to speak with him?</p>
<p>I've met Andrew twice at the Coop where he used to live, he seemed pretty together other than his obvious eccentric wardrobe choices. </p>
<p>Very sad. RIP Andrew.</p>
