rising junior/drama program/how am i doing?

<p>Hello all.</p>

<p>I wrote a post before and it didn't go through for some reason. So let me type it all out again...</p>

<p>I am a rising junior at a competitive public hs in NJ.</p>

<p>Stats:</p>

<p>Current GPA: W 4.4 UW 3.7
(will go up to 4.5/3.8 by end of next year)</p>

<p>Rank: Top 10% out of ~350 students</p>

<p>Bonus: First generation college student</p>

<p>Courses: Most challenging except math - I'm in the accelerated program but not honors...However, AP Calculus senior year...</p>

<p>SAT II: Bio M 690</p>

<p>EC's:</p>

<p>Drama Club (stopping to pursue professional acting)
Spanish Club
Science League
JV Debate (varsity this year)
Computer Science Club</p>

<p>Awards:</p>

<p>Work Experience:</p>

<p>Acting: two Broadway shows(1 straight play, 1 opera), a national tour of a musical, and a small role in a feature film (all pre-hs because I needed to help my mom with my grandmother (see below))</p>

<p>I audition regularly in the city through my agent. </p>

<p>In addition, I attend acting and singing lessons regularly.</p>

<p>Acting Union Affiliations: Screen Actors Guild, Actors’ Equity Association, American Federation of Television & Radio Artists, American Guild of Musical Artists</p>

<p>Community Service:</p>

<p>The Lillian Booth Actors’ Home – The Actors’ Fund of America</p>

<p>Work with residents of the Alzheimer’s disease unit on Arts and Crafts projects, aid in transporting residents to different areas of the complex, and deliver meals.</p>

<p>Assisted my mom in caring for my grandmother who had Alzheimer's disease and colon cancer. She lived at home with her illnesses for four years until her death this past June.</p>

<p>Summer Academics:</p>

<p>2005 - Summer School for fun to accelerate my math track in hs</p>

<p>2006 - spending time with my family after my grandmother's death</p>

<p>2007 - summer session drama programs at NYU Tisch or Yale</p>

<p>So, what do you think? Am I on the right track? Drama majors from Yale are very very very welcome to express their opinions about the program. </p>
