Rising Junior, plan for SAT?

Is the big blue book really enough for the SAT? Are there are any specific books that you guys know of for each section? I feel like the college board book is kind of general. My psat was 172 (54, 66, 52), not great, and I was wondering what my plan should be over the rest of summer if I am to take the test this fall. Thanks.

Blue book should be more than enough. With 10 rpactice tests and a great review seciton, it should help you out a lot if you apply yourself.

Over the summer, plan on getting through the blue book. You’ll have to take around 1 practice test a week. Afterards, go over the problems you got wrong by asking teachers or CC or tutors etc. Also, try to simulate real testing conditions.

If you stay consistent with a test a week, you should learn a lot and be ready for the fall.

Good luck!

I’ll try to w/ap summer assignments too…is there a vocab book that CCers recommend as a supplement though? Memorizing is tedious, but it might be worth knowing those common words.

Alright thanks! Yeh, the CR is a pain for me.

Get Barrons and do the pratice tests from BB and Barrons

No I have only taken the PSAT at the beginning of this year. I plan to read the strategies in the College Board Book for every section, then do their 10 prac. tests somehow before summer ends. Also, I guess memorizing DH 1 + 2 will be good for vocab. If needed, I guess I’ll need a book for CR (passages) + Writing.

Is Barron’s recommended for just math or all the sections?

For math yeah I heard it is good. I use it for the practice tests cause they are generally harder

Yes the big blue book is enough, I took a preparation course and that was all we got. The practice tests were harder than the actual SAT’s I thought. I just studied out of the book and raised my score from a 1450 to an 1810. Just keep on studying and good luck!
