Duke
Northeastern
Notre Dame
Penn State
SUNY Binghamton
SUNY Geneso
Syracuse

UVA

A few of those are safeties but most are long shots. I also lived in Russia for the first 9 years of my life and hopefully that'll help me stand out since I want to go more specifically into International Trade and Business.

What are my chances? If anyone could help me it'd be highly appreciated :) Thank you!

What is your home state? Are your parents willing to spend $55K/year for your school? That’s what UMich costs for OOS students. Is your family low income so a school that meets full need will be needed? I’m not sure you can call Bing and Geneseo safeties with a sub 50% selection rate.

I’m from NY which is why I was looking at SUNY schools. Finance isn’t that large of an issue and hopefully I would get some financial aid/ scholarship money.

“Finance isn’t that large of an issue and hopefully I would get some financial aid/ scholarship money.”

Until you have sat down with your parents and talked about how they expect you to pay for your education, you don’t know how much of an issue money will be. Do they have a college fund set up for you? Do they expect you to keep running your business and saving that income to help pay? How do they feel about taking loans or about you taking loans?

If you review the websites of the colleges/universities that you are interested in, you can find out about their individual financial aid policies. Is their aid only based on need? If so, do they just use the FAFSA, or do they also use the CSS Profile or another formula? Do they have any guaranteed merit-based scholarships that you have a shot at given your grades and test scores? Run some of the Net Price Calculators at the different college/university websites to get a guesstimate of how much each place might cost your family, and take a look at the Estimated Cost of Attendance for each one.

You and your parents can learn a lot about financial aid in general by visiting [FinAid! Financial Aid, College Scholarships and Student Loans](http://www.finaid.org) You also can ask questions in the Financial Aid Forum here. There are some real experts in that forum.

Wishing you all the best!

Thank you! That was very helpful
