For D, a prospective Psychology major from Connecticut:

Furman University (D favorite)
Saint Olaf (Dad favorite)
Franklin & Marshall (the one D & Dad can agree on)
Elon University
Miami University (Ohio)

D needs to add a few more schools to the list since 2 of them are reaches. Unfortunately she only loves 2 of them, and of course they are both the reach schools.

BobbyCT, I know like 5 people going to Furman next year, they all love that school too
I’m gonna have to go visit Greenville and Furman someday this fall

Haven’t finalized my list yet.
So far:
Harvey Mudd
Olin
NJIT
NTU (Singapore)

Actually, that might already be enough. Hmm.

I’m from Connecticut and plan on majoring in Neuroscience, if offered. And/or maybe English and Dance.

Wesleyan University
Vassar College
Oberlin College
Bard College
Kenyon College
Skidmore College
Muhlenberg College
Boston University
University of Connecticut
College of Charleston
University of Hartford

My list used to have over twenty colleges but I forced myself to get rid of many of them because I realized that I truly did not want to go there and/or it would be a waste of money to apply. This list is open to change, but I’m pretty sure this’ll be it.

@MPD14…
If you are considering engineering as a possible major, why would you include U Chicago? They don’t even offer engineering classes. (As in there is no engineering department)

Notice how i said economics OR engineering, if i go to Chicago I’m gong to major in economics, Richmond and Emory dont have engineering either but are both strong in economics, Scranton, too.

MPD14, what if you go to Chicago with the intent of studying economics but realize that engineering is right for you? you’d be SCREWED…it’s better to be safe than sorry, there are many excellent schools in economics that also have engineering, look there not at UChicago.

How would i know engineering is right for me if i havent taken it?

And name another school thats strong in engineering and economics that is not on my list, besides the obvious like MIT

Prospective Major: Economics, International Relations - International Economics, Political Science

University of Pennsylvania
Georgetown University
George Washington University
Villanova University
Boston University
Northeastern University
Temple University
Drexel University
University of Pittsburgh

“How would I know engineering is right for me if I haven’t taken it?”

Exactly my point. Chicago doesn’t offer a single engineering class. I’m not interested in engineering (hence my choice of Chicago–and I love the school to death), but it just seems like if you have any interest whatsoever in engineering Chicago might not be the school for you… Just a personal opinion.

EDIT: Actually I can think of one: Northwestern.
