Hey everyone! I'm a rising senior from MA and I (think!) I have a final list.

My basic stats:
UW GPA: ~3.75, don't know weighted but I've taken all available honors courses and will have taken 4 APs by graduation
SAT: 630 cr, 670 m, 640 w (my first try, will retake in the fall)
ACT: 30 composite (same deal as SATs)
Class rank: In the top 10/~200
Decent ecs.

My list (in no order):
UMiami
UGA
FSU
Clemson
U. South Carolina
ASU
Alabama
U. Florida

Any suggestions for additions, etc? I know I don't have 15 schools like some people on this forum haha... Do you think I have enough safeties/matches? Thanks in advance!

you look solid for Clemson!

let me know if you have any questions about Clemson as I’m a student there from MA too!

Can your parents afford all those OOS schools? Are they willing to pay $40K/year for an OOS public?

Cost is not an issue (although the cheaper, the better!).

Thank you Pierre, I may be in contact with you soon as Clemson is near the top of my list. :)

I’m also confused at why you’re applying to so many out of state public schools…

Why not UMass? It’s decent and it’s IN STATE.

And would you consider some private universities? (Smaller class sizes are a plus :D)

I agree, I think that as a Massachusetts resident, you should apply to UMass-Amherst (I did as well) as a safety school/financial safety.

I want a large university in a warm location with tons of school spirit and outstanding athletics that I can cheer for. UMass does not appeal to me. My financial safety is Alabama; with my current scores I can get 2/3 tuition. I am not opposed to private universities (Miami is on my list), but I haven’t found many that match what I am looking for. I’m definitely open to suggestions if you have any. :)

well there you go :)

I had the same criteria as you, I wanted a school with tons of school spirit and a school with a Division I football team. I also applied to NC State and Virginia Tech (not sure what major you are looking at but I’m an engineering major and those were good schools for that) and Virginia Tech was really high up on my list. My final decision was between Clemson and VT.

Oh and one last thing I’m supposed to tell you since I don’t want you to go to hell and since I go to Clemson: Clemson>USuCk hahaha
