Hi, I will be a junior next year. I know that it is way too early for chancing but I would like to know how I would be viewed as an applicant at the following schools if I maintain my current academic standing and increase my pathetic extrcurriculars:

So there is my lacking resume. If there is anything I should do to improve it, please advise me. Thanks.

Academically you are very strong. Just get that same score on your PSAT/SAT and you will be golden at least academically for admissions. ECs aren't bad just try to get as much leadership as you can just don't overdo it and do something you enjoy.

G/L

@simpleperson: thanks!! Can leadership be vice president or just a simple officer? just curious....

You're a rising junior, not a sophomore.

@Invoyable: Whoa, thanks for pointing that out. I am curious, though, to know my potential chances at these schoools.

You definitely have a potential for all the schools on your list. The U. of Florida is a little random though. Get a good score on your SATs and your golden.

I'm applying to Wharton. Could you chance me?

Yes, a simple officer and VP are both leadership positions. However, the VP would look more impressive. Again, do something you like and try to be a major leader in that club (e.g President). Thats far more impressive than being a officer fo every club. You may also want to look at the thread about how to present ECs its very informative, and helped me a lot.

G/L

I just don't have a lot of extra time between band and classes...... Should I do something good with science?

bump...............

hey, i think you have a solid chance at any school you are applying to (the ivies are always just random) pending a good SAT/ACT result.
If you are a political junkie, maybe join a campaign you really support and help out with that, or start a club at your school where you can talk about all this.
A little more in depth EC's and you should get into at least one ivy and most other schools.

-Take the SAT and ACT. It can't hurt to try both and see where your scores are. I scored a 190 on my PSAT and got a 32 on my ACT (about a 2120 or so).

-If you're a political junkie, there are quite a few options to pursue. I'd personally suggest boys/girls state, interning/volunteering at local campaigns (presidential/congressional elections provide great opportunities), or joining your city's school board/human rights commission/etc.

-Overall you look great. HYPS are so tough it's hard to even guess, especially at your age. If you continue at this rate, I'd say you're in at one of them.

If you could chance me I'd appreciate it. Be honest!

Thanks!

bummpppppppppppp

bbbbbbbuuuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmppppp

need answers.................

lol me too.

regrettably, another bump........

hey i mean its hard since you are so young but everything looks good so far
psat loooks like it will predict a good SAT and you're ap's are awesome
and don't worry, i think your ec's are good because they seem to show a passion for particular things
like someone else said, just try to get leadership in them
if you continue on the path you've laid, you should have a good shot

chance me too if you can please:
