My S is still waiting as well. Applied Mid-November, starting to get concerned. This is one of his top schools that we are waiting to hear back from. We are OOS.
My S. also! Good Luck to your S. We will know soon enough.
@lintris I applied all the way back in December and I’m still waiting to hear.
We should find out by next week since decisions are postmarked by March 15th
My son applied ED and was accepted into the IT security major.
To those still waiting, I hope you get good news soon!
Got merit scholarship letter in mail today Still no acceptance letter!
My S got into Microelectronic Engineering, heard today! Good Luck to everyone, we are in Massachusetts.
@dvillella - that is such a cool program! I spoke to the Department Head at Colleges and Careers last summer, and his enthusiasm impressed me. Congrats!
My son applied ED and will be Computing Security.
@dvillella do you know if his portal updated
My D called admissions today about honors program invitations. Apparently they mailed the yersterday so we should know soon. Good luck!
@truculent and @mamaduck His portal has not updated. He went for Mechanical Engineering but got into Micro, this is his second choice. However, he has been wait-listed everywhere!! RPI, CASE, Va tech just now, and we are now awaiting WPI @5. The program does look really cool. Small class. Haven’t heard anything on merit, fingers crossed.
Has anyone heard anything about honors? If they really were mailed on 3/15 then I guess DD is out since we are in Rochester and it should only take one day. She got the highest merit scholarship and has gotten in honors for all her other choices so we were hopeful.
How long does it take to see if you are awarded any merit? Adviser said 2-3 weeks, is that correct? Seems like a long time as we want to make a decision soon.
2-3 weeks from when? Yes, it does seem like a long time since it is the first school she heard back from, but there are still 3 schools we are waiting to hear from at all. My daughter was asked to be in the FRI program and I’m afraid she’ll lose her spot if she doesn’t decide soon but it’s hard when all of the information is not here.
Oops… sorry… can’t we edit these posts? I got confused between Bing and RIT. My daughter was awarded $16k merti some time ago for RIT. Hoping to hear about honors.
They told us 2-3 weeks from when he was accepted to hear back on any merit. He was accepted last week. We would love to start making some financial decisions.
My S received his honors notification letter in the mail this past Saturday. We’re out of state.
My son got his honors notification today. We’re in New England.
My daughter is a sophomore (college of biological sciences and technology) and extremely happy at RIT. One tip: if you or your kid gets some need-based aid, it doesn’t hurt at all to ask for more. That’s what we did and the increase made it affordable to us.
Also, if you are awarded work-study, you may have to hustle a bit to get a job. It’s not like they have a queue and take the next person in line when they have an opening, and from what I can see, there is no particular advantage whether or not the applicant’s salary will be paid by work-study. Toward the end of her first semester, my daughter decided she wanted to work in the campus post office, submitted an application, and followed (courteously!) every few weeks. She wound up with a phone interview during winter break, and has worked there ever since.
Good luck to all.
I applied for BME, but got accepted into the Industrial Engineering major. Is it worth considering that? The letter said not to enter the school through that major with the intentions of switching, but I probably won’t end up at RIT if it would be for industrial. Do I reach out to them about it?
