Dear Community, my child was gratefully accepted into both Riverdale and Horace Mann. I would love to know the inside scoop at these schools. Are the kids nice? Are they going to bed at 2:00 am consistently? Do teachers care about the students. Are students generally happy there?Thanks for your help.

First of all, congrats to you and your child!
I’m a student at Horace Mann and it is the best school. The workload is crazy and homework could take up to more than four hours! But once you learn how to time manage yourself well homework should not take you more than 3 hours. HM education is truly the best. There’s great facilities, very caring and educated teachers, great friends that you can make, and so many opportunities! I hope that your child comes here!
My friends sister switched to riverdale and LOVES it. They do have the reputation for being more of a “party” school, but I’m pretty sure their academics are still pretty good. I don’t know much about Horace Mann, but I know people who go there and they don’t go on a ton about loving it, but they might, I just don’t know. If I had a choice I’d go to Riverdale, even though I’m not a party person, just the student body seems really friendly and there’d still be good academics.
