Thank you @VMT! My mail is notoriously slow so I’m just hoping that was the problem.
@lavalamp97 - yep, three for me (though one of them is out of the question due to insufficient merit aid)
I just want to get into one “good” school, and Rochester just seems sooo close
Do you all think the IDOC request is a guarantee of admission? I got it requested, but couldn’t turn in my 2014 tax return, but the lady still said it would be okay for me to turn it in in April, meaning that my financial status would still be relevant then?
I don’t know. I know it seems silly to be nervous after only the first batch of acceptances, but I applied December 1st and I figured I would be in the early groups.
^^^I was never requested by IDOC for the university of rochester…is that a problem?
MyRoc still down!
Very happy S2 was accepted. Now to wait for scholarship info…
Special thanks to @Creekland, @WayOutWestMom, @Lergnom , @eyemamom and others for all the wonderful info you have provided about your child’s experience.
Thank you everyone for your interest in the University of Rochester. The Office of Admissions’ server is experiencing technical difficulties that are preventing applicants from viewing their status. We are aware of this issue and are taking steps to resolve it as quickly as possible.
We understand that this is a stressful time for applicants and their families.
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding.
Tylers in da house!!! whooohooo. @TSocash do you know when merit aide is awarded for those accepted. I know in the past it came with the acceptance letter. But it seems this year maybe different?
@TSocash also how often will batches be released/when will they be finished
Stresseddad I spoke with UofR financial aid this morning on another issue. I was told the first batch of financial aid information will come out in about another two weeks.
@Yokennyr Did you specifically ask about financial aid, or is that true for merit aid, too?
Ah…sorry. Just mentioned financial aid, not merit.
Rochester sent out an email right now; if you got the email on Monday that said to check your portal, that meant you were accepted. Congrats everyone!
@rippedfishnets; I didn’t get that email, was it only sent to those who were told to check the portal?
@jamesjunkers I didn’t get it either. It seems like it would make sense that they just sent them to those who were accepted.
@rippedfishnets so that means a rejection for everyone else???
@ivyhopefulebound I really don’t think that’s what it means. I think it just means that everyone who heard back in the first batch got accepted, but that doesn’t mean more people won’t get accepted.
@ivyhopefulebound - No, it does not mean a rejection for everyone else. UofR will continue to send out notifications through the month of March. Some were lucky enough to be in the first wave of notifications. You will hear either way by the the end of the month I believe.
I got that email too. I dont know why schools tell me to submit financial materials when they didn’t confirm acceptance yet. I mean is there a possible wait list? Anyways good luck to everyone. My application was in step 4 since december. I submit my application in Sept. No decision yet lol
Yes, all…this was only the first wave of acceptances…it by no way means you’ve been rejected. It is unfortunate that their server crashed…causing unnecessary stress and confusion…the dean of admissions sent out today a very apologetic email to students who received the email on Monday to check their URoc account, and emphasized that anyone who received the email was accepted. He gave some detail on just what went wrong with their system. I suspect they were super careful in sending out today’s email to make sure they only sent to students in the first wave. I don’t know what the rest of their schedule is like, but they have certainly not sent out every acceptance. Sit tight…hope everyone on this thread gets some good news soon…it has been a crazy admissions season this year…
