**Rochester 2019 RD Discussion Thread!**

I didn’t see a thread for this, and I know a lot of other colleges have them. Who else applied RD to U of R here?
P.S. - If there is a thread for this that I just missed, please provide me with the link, and ignore this thread – but I don’t think I missed it

Hey @jamesjunkers, I think this is the only thread. Also I realized that I left the activities section (What activities at Rochester interest you?) on the supplement blank. How much will this hurt me even though the rest of my application expresses my interests? Should I call the admissions office or is this trivial?

I did the same thing! And stressed out about it for a while too.

I really doubt they use that as a significant factor, lol. They understand that we’re stressed and we make mistakes. I wouldn’t worry too much

I applied!

@jamesjunkers thanks Idk why I just couldn’t stop thinking about it today
@tinker did u ever try to fill out that section or did you just let it be? Just curious.
Well I wish us all the best of luck!

Is anyone past step 2 on their MyRoc?

My son’s is on step 3.

My daughter is on step 4.

@sbjdorlo @Yokennyr - if you don’t mind, approximately when did your son/daughter apply?

Oh boy, I know before Dec. 1, but can’t remember exactly when.

@sbjdorlo, haha no worries

@DaneBrick‌ I started filling out when I first added Rochester to my common app and put 2 down, but forgot to go back and update it so ended up submitting it with only 2 activities that were not indicative of my interests. I think there were just so many on the list I put a couple down and thought, ‘I’ll just go through them more thoroughly later’ and never did!

I’m the type to stress out about relatively minor things as well, but in the end I doubt the admissions decision will be determined by this small factor! (at least I hope it won’t)

She had I goal of being done by Dec 1st. I think she was done just before Thanksgiving. It’s our #1 choice. So excited to hear. Hoping we hear soon!

Do they provide responses on a rolling basis?

From what I’ve read it seems like late March at best. It’s going to be a loooonnngggg winter.

Hi, I was wondering if you all got emails about the family recommendation and all that. My friend got an email about that but I never did. Is it too late to hand it in? And should I like request an email about it or does it not matter? And how about the writing sample and stuff?
Thanks for anyone’s help  I wish you all the best of luck!

I also applied RD to Rochester, the day before Thanksgiving. I am still on step 2 though…

I’m on step 3 and applied all the way back in October! It’s my #1 choice, but I probably won’t get accepted since I’m pretty below their averages (3.49 UW GPA, 32 ACT)

On another note, has anyone heard back from the Simon Scholars Case Competition yet?

I’m still on step two, but I applied like first week of December.

Yeah when do we find out about the Simon Scholars Competition… people last year were finding out around this time
