I still haven’t heard back either, but Naviance has also told me I’m above qualified for Rochester, both with my GPA and with my SAT. Also, someone from my school with lower stats was accepted (however he may have had unique extracurriculars and essays). So I sort of still believe I’ll get in, but I’m losing hope every day that I don’t. Maybe I won’t get in.
@lavalamp97 how many LARGE batches of decisions do you know of?
@JalapenoGreens I believe there were two large batches.
^yes, one on 3/2 and one on 3/12 I believe
And judging by the University’s Admission’s twitter today, there should be another one coming soon too!
^^^Yay! I hope it’s very soon, probably on 23rd or end of this week possibly??
Judging by their previous release dates, it’s every 10 days. Might just be by chance though.
YAY!!! @chocolatexc just out of curiosity, what did their twitter say? Can’t find the post.

@ URAdmissions Are all acceptance letter sent? i’m still waiting for mine. Please advise. Happy St. Pat’s.
@ WizzieDe Nope! We’re stuffing a new batch right now–everyone should hear by April 1.
I dreamed that I got accepted, tiled WELCOME with acceptance letter and all… Then I woke up and I wanted to cry.
@MadameHubba They tweeted in reply to someone asking about the next batches and said something like “You’re in luck. Stuffing the next batch right now! Everyone should hear by April 1st”
@JalapenoGreens I still have my hopes up for the end of the week though because I applied 12/1 and was expecting something sooner :-< I’m in the same boat as @lavalamp97 too
Is everyone pretty much on step 4 by now?
@rod1896 It seems like it. I’ve been on step four since January.
@chocolatexc I moved from step 2 to 4 within a week or so (early February) which made me very nervous. I think we still stand a chance if we haven’t gotten a rejection at this point!
@rod1896 Wow, I’ve never heard that before! That’s actually really scary… Where did you that?

@MadameHubba @chocolatexc
I found it here! first post.
Still on step 4. I want to know now! How far along are we on building a time machine? lol
My son is on step 4. Went from step 3 to 4 two weeks ago. He applied end of November. The randomness makes it hard to be patient…
For those still waiting, there is definitely a lot of randomness and factoring that goes into decisions…much of which students have no control over…where you live, race, gender, and other demographic characteristics…your intended major, activities a school is looking for (perhaps they already accepted a number of violinists…or runners, or class presidents, etc). Having been through this for the first and last time this college season ( only child), it has been eye-opening…but the takeaway is that more often than not it is not because ther is something wrong with you, the student…it is about the schools looking to build a balanced class, having certain obligations for legacy, race, specific athletic or artistic talents. Here is a great article from the nytime that hopefully will put things in perspective (and, btw, is don’t think all acceptances have gone out yet). I’m going to post same message on the Univ of Michigan thread, where there is also a lot of angst…and, for anyone who is also a UM applicant, I think you know that compared to UM admissions, UoR has been a lot more straightforward, but even they could improve (and I suspect they will next year, esp re the confusion regarding priority review) http://www.nytimes.com/2015/03/15/opinion/sunday/frank-bruni-how-to-survive-the-college-admissions-madness.html?_r=0
I applied a few days before feb 15th and moved to step 4 like 2 and a half weeks ago
I applied to UR mid-December but after checking my application, I realized that I completely forgot to fill out the activities section. I emailed UR admissions to explain that this blank section was not because of a lack of interest and even told them some of the activities I would be interested in if I attend UR. They never emailed back even after I send a follow up. I don’t want to seem annoying, but do you think this could make or break my acceptance? I have a 95 GPA and 2070 SAT
