**Rochester 2019 RD Discussion Thread!**

@MadameHubba‌ no, my last name begins with an H

If you check some of the earlier posts in this thread you will see that decisions have been coming out in batches for the past 2-3 weeks. My D was accepted last week, applied around 12/28. She recently was awarded a $16k scholarship as well. A friend of hers heard a week before her, others have not heard. I can only assume there are many more admission offers to come. Good luck to all!

To my knowledge I do not know if there was a large batch today or just a few individual decisions…

Although more acceptances are sure to come, I really feel bad for those who haven’t heard yet. Two kids from my school and I were accepted in the first batch on 3/2, but two other friends of mine have yet to hear and applied 1-2 months before I did.

They’re both more than qualified, at least according to Naviance, and are both starting to become very dejected about Rochester and honestly the entire college process. Every time I’ve seen a new wave of decisions on here, I tell them to check their emails but still nothing. For them and all others waiting, hopefully the end is near…

That’s a reason why I’m slightly confused. According to Naviance, I’m more than qualified for Rochester, I applied because I really like the school. I’m not trying to talk down upon anyone else, I understand numbers are not nearly everything, but others from my school with lower stats have been accepted and I’m still waiting. Oh well, I’d rather wait for an acceptance than get a quick rejection.

Same. According to Naviance, my stats are much higher than the average accepted stats for Rochester. I decided to apply because I really enjoy the customizable curriculum, given what I’ve seen as my sister graduated from here a few years ago. I really hope I get accepted and that they don’t assume I’m using it as a safety or whatever…

We are still waiting our decision (appllied by 12/1, at step 4). Can anyone tell me the dates for admitted student days? If she is accepted, we need to visit this and one other school again. Our April is busy and we want to minimize the days she misses class before APs. (But thats another topic that makes me mad). Plus, I need to let my work know when I won’t be available!

Are they releasing more decisions today because I think MyRoc is down?

@bossinup‌ that’s a good point. Possibly, it’s down on my side as well

@drmom31 I tried to log on this morning to get those dates but I received a server error. We were on it yesterday afternoon but it is apparently down now. I will try and check later.

According to naviance, my GPA is 1.63 points lower than the average accepted student on the 100 point scale, but my SAT is 276 points higher. Does Rochester accept January SAT scores? If they don’t, then my SAT is only 196 points higher.

@drmom31, accepted student visit days are March 27, 30; April 3, 11, 17, and 20.

I’m still on step 4. Is this bad?

@RKGroup‌ From what I can tell, they don’t move students to step 5 until a decision is rendered and it happens more or less simultaneously with the deployment of the email notifying you a decision has been made and check your myroc account.

Nothing in the mail :’(

:((

Got rejected just now.
UW GPA 3.98
W GPA 4.28
Who cares? The notification process is so weird that I DISLIKE it. Actually I was admitted to some better colleges than U of R, so it’s good news to me.

@kingofforest, did you get an email, or…?

Yes, email.

A notification email directly that I don’t need to log in MyROC account.
