I’m starting to really like University of Rochester. It’s not too far from home (an hour away), a lot of students at my high school have already got in, and their school of engineering, from what I’ve heard from my teachers, is phenomenal.
I have a decent shot at getting in (SAT is above their 75 percentile), but I’m afraid that I won’t be able to afford it. How great is U of R’s financial aid anyway? Are they especially generous to those who are really at the bottom of the income brackets? My parents don’t have anything to contribute, but they would if they could.
If they desire me a lot, will they give me better aid than someone with the same need but desire less?
Have you checked today? URochester did not show up when I originally did the IDOC last week, but today I went to check something else and it’s now listed along with the schools that were already there.
Checked my daughters IDOC and yes, UofR is there. It was not previously, just two others my daughter applied too. So that is new, in the lady few days.
Those of you saying UR is on IDOC, when did you apply? As in was it before Dec. 1? Because I see on older UR threads that they only request IDOC after you’ve been unofficially accepted.
I just checked IDOC and Rochester has been added to my list of schools too. However I didn’t apply before 12/1, I finalized my application on the deadline of Jan 5th.
It’s so hard to say what it all means. None of us should probably be reading too much into any of it. It’s all still speculation. Hoping for some good news this week though!
My family never filled out the IDOCS form because Rochester said they would contact us if they needed it. If they haven’t contacted us yet, is it safe to say that I’ve been denied?
