My daughter is deciding between University of Rochester and Pitt for biomedical engineering (bioengineering at Pitt) and is struggling with the decision. She likes Rochester’s campus and size better than Pitt’s, but likes Pittsburgh better than Rochester and it’s close to friends and family. Our sense is that Rochester’s program is more theoretical based and more students go on to graduate schools after graduation. D isn’t opposed to pursuing a Masters, but knows she’s not interested in academia as a profession. From what I can tell, it looks like Pitt actually has very good placement for industry in bme if she wanted to go directly into the workforce and they have robust internship and coop programs. Any thoughts or input from the CC experts?
I don’t have any biomed expertise, but I can encourage you to review old threads in this Engineering category. Perhaps you’ll find some references to those 2 schools. Good luck!
