Rocket Review Core Words are too easy.

Anyone else think this? I might just start studying random words fro Barrons.

how are they easy?..from research done by dark knight it is about the 2nd best vocab list

I felt the same when I looked at the list. I wasn't doing incredibly well on the CR section (around 600) and found that I didn't know many of the words that were coming up on the SAT. But when I looked at the list, I knew the vast majority of words that came up.

I'm now using direct hits, where I'm finding many more unfamiliar words, but according to statistics, both lists are very good.

yes, i am studying Rocket and find that the core word list is easy. May words i know. But i think its cool.^ ^ moreover, reading Rocket , i can find sth more for myself.

Ive memorized the whole core words list. It's easy, I knew 60% of it before. The remaining 40% list really helped me out, from 500 to 600+. Now I'm either going to do wordsmart or the loft's list. According to Adam Robinson, the author of Word smart and Rocket review, the core words are meant to be the base of your vocabulary. He (obviously!) very strongly suggests you do the Word Smart after the list, which means he recognises the fact that the core words are easy and you really need something more to get 700 etc.

Hope this helps!
