Rocket Review

How is this book? Can someone who had used this book give me some details about it? Some people say it is good while others say it's bad. Tell me what do you think of it and why.
Thanks

I don't have the Rocket Review book but i think i may purchase it for the SAT studying ill be doing this summer.

bump 10char

it really helped w/ my writing score (the multiple choice section) and i think gives the best overall strategies

I agree with meadow!

The writing section of RocketReview, particularly the grammar review section, helped me most. Before RocketReview I missed errors and marked correct sentences wrong, but after several weeks spent on that section I attained an 800 writing on the SAT. Besides reviewing standard grammar, RocketReview deals with the kinds of sentences that are sometimes written awkwardly, but are actually grammatically correct.

The math section has extremely useful techniques and goes through a comprehensive list of math concepts found on the SAT. Unfortunately, I didn't work hard enough on this section so I didn't very well.

I don't remember much about the CR section except that it had a list of high-frequency SAT vocab words. Good for memorization!

I would recommend RocketReview only for someone with plenty of time and diligence...it is a pretty thick book!

Good for writing, that's nice to know.
And how well does RocketReview do on CR besides vocab lists? If it's not the best for CR, which books should I get for CR?
Thanks

Thank you Placidia, I have been reading reviews for RR for weeks now, deciding on whether or not to get it. Be it seems to be always the same people on here raving about it and never a new face. Or people writing about it that admit they don't even have the book yet have 'heard' it was 'good.' You have convinced me to get it now. You are the first review I could actually count as honest and descriptive.

If you're scoring 500-650ish on CR, RR is a great book for techniques and strategies to attack CR questions. So if you're struggling in CR, this book is a must.

What's wrong with me ?or the book

You're welcome, Mishiru!

Plyr422: Hmm, I wouldn't consider my writing score increase to be a 'magic thing', I think maybe it was the result of spending the most time on that section. You could try going through RR again, and seeing if you make more improvements the second time around.

Thanks guys! I'm getting it.
