What are the strong points of RocketReview? Thanks (and any other comments/opinions are welcome- as well as suggestions for other books!)

I'd like to know as well.

I read the essay section from RR and it had some good advice in there. However, I'm not sure if I should follow Grammatix's essay section or the one in RR.

I skimmed over the CR section from Grammatix and I don't think there is anything special in there - Grammatix is better for CR.

Bump!!!!!!

I've heard that it's good for the writing portion (http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=84147 ---nobody answered yet...)

I'll bump this again heh..

bring up my post

i don't know...i have done about one essay after scanning over all the main points that adam gave for a good essay. i wrote the essay timed and got a 12. i sent it to him to be personally checked and it also scored a 12. But somehow i get the feeling that i'd probably do one or two points lower on the real test?

The RR prep and test taking strategies are good and very pragmatic - not always exactly the same as what you see on this board. It is always good to get another view (if you can afford the money and time). The sample test material is quite good as a survey of the different types of questions on the SAT. He does respond personally to email if you have questions. The book is worth the money.

lol it feels nice getting an email from the author of the book, that's definitely why this book is worth the money...

their essay grading option is sweet, and there is a thing the author does every once and then, he grades your Essay personally

RR is excellent for the Essay portion of the test? (By the way, I have the book but I didn't get around to reading through it yet)

RR is ONLY good for the essay and NOTHING else. trust me on that

^^ I have to agree with the above poster. The essay advice is good, but it fails to GIVE some examples!

So is RR good for the writing MC section? Or is it only the essay?

Do you think RR would help raise a 770 Math, 770 Reading, 740 Writing (80 MC/7 essay)?

If not, what are the best book for improving already high scores?
