Roh's Son to Study MBA at Stanford (Korea Times)

"President Roh Moo-hyun’s son will soon depart for the United States to study at Stanford University from September, a source close to the presidential family said on Wednesday.

Roh Gun-ho, 32, has been admitted to the Masters of Business Administration (MBA) program at the U.S. university, a source of the governing camp said on condition of anonymity. His wife and daughter will accompany him.

``I heard he plans to pay his own tuition and living expenses there,’’ the source said. He has been working with LG Electronics, South Korea’s second largest electronic appliance manufacturer, since 2002 when his father was a presidential candidate."

who is roh?

president of south korea

Zephyr,

Why are you posting these threads???
Besides, sons of presidents and presidential candidates are a dime-a-dozen.

I havn't met any...

I find it pretty sad when the President of Korea bashes America left and right and says that Koreans should not send kids to the U.S. for college and then sends his own kids. Ironic, no?

dont wrry if he is like his father he would be a liar and a horrible person

Above two posts:
When did the president of South Korea bash America, and what makes him a liar and horrible person?

Yes he did say that, he keeps thinking that korea loses its Seoul National University, Korea University and Yonsei University students to top universities in America. And quirkily if your not korea u have no clue *** Roh did. He was nearly impeached for scandals including stealing his campaign funding.. Korea never had a decent President they always managed to lie and steal $$!!

I thought the Korean dream school was HARVARD!

Pop culture and actual academic excellence are different things, Byerly.

NYU is the #1 "dream school" for high schoolers. It doesn't mean much when you get down to the nitty-gritty of academic excellence.

"Korea never had a decent President they always managed to lie and steal $$!!"

...what about that guy Kim Dae Jung? You know, the Nobel Prize winner?

I find these threads great. I love reading about admits, its gets me exciting about 2010

The "nobel prize winner" was found to have given millions of dollars of tax money to the North Korean dictator in order to have that meeting. The meeting came with strings attached.

To add to what KING IS HERE said, not only did he mention that, he also said that the top colleges in Korea should be equal to the two-year colleges in Korea as well, which is just ironic and idiotic IMHO.

Show me proof. I've heard that he's been accused of that, but I haven't seen any hard proof yet.

Okay, and let's suppose he did pay to arrange that meeting. The fact is that under his presidency, the Korean economy flourished.

And what's wrong with high expectations of two-year colleges? I mean, sure, it's going to be virtually impossible to make a reality, but it's a goal to strive for.

"NYU is the #1 "dream school" for high schoolers"

WHAT?
(ten chr)

In surveys, when American students are asked what theire dream school is, NYU gets the most votes . . . so I've heard.

Yes. NYU is #1, and Harvard is #2, as measured by survey forms submitted by those who purchase the Princeton Review "Guide to the Best XXX Colleges."
