Has anyone compiled a list of schools with rolling acceptances for MT vs those that wait and make offers at the end of the audition season?
The ones I know of are Marymount Manhattan and Montclair. Hopefully other people know of other ones!
Hartt doesn’t have rolling admission, but they have an Early Action audition date in December - if you audition in December, you get your result in January. But after that, everyone who auditions finds out in March or April.
If you look at the acceptances thread you can see which ones started announcing early and get a pretty good idea.
This info. is good to know because we are hoping to get some Fall/Winter acceptances to relieve some stress before unifieds!
I found the thread I was thinking of. It’s obviously not current, but it might give some insight.
Oh, UArts is rolling too! I just remembered that.
Elon and BW offer some early answers if the student auditions early but your kid has to be ready to go. Temple offers in January for January auditions. Rider is rolling. UofArts is roiling.
You can get early news from CCM and Penn State if you audition early.
If you audition in the Fall for OCU, you should hear back by the holidays.
Hartt can accept earlier than spring even without early action. In our experience it’s a good one for relieving pressure and the waiting!
JMU is not rolling, but if you apply academically EA, and audition in the fall at JMU you may find out when you receive your academic acceptance in January whether or not you have also been admitted to the major. We do keep many fall audition, January admit students on Hold until we have completed all auditions, but all EA academic admits hear by late February/very early March if they have also been admitted to the program.
RD applicants find out academic and artistic admission at the same time in late March.
@songbird17 My S had offers: BA MT from Rowan University and; BFA MT from Arcadia University before Christmas break. He never had to apply to his safety schools, since those applications were later due dates.
