Rolling Admission vs. Early Action?

I was planning on getting my app in by the early action deadline, but it completely slipped my mind. I ended up turning my Common App in on November 15th and indicated "rolling admission" as my preference. I'm intending to enter college in the fall semester of 2014. I looked on the Purdue website, though, and it kind of seemed like rolling admissions was geared towards transfer students/spring applicants, though they weren't very clear about it.

Does anyone know if it's okay for me to apply as rolling even though I'm interested in the fall term? And when can I expect to hear a decision?

It depends on your credential. I think applying RD would not hurt much your chance for admission, but it does affect your chance for merit aid. The deadline for merit aid is the same as EA.

It shouldn’t affect your admission chances, but as billcsho said, you might not get much scholarship money.
