Congrats to you and Mr. R., @romanigypsyeyes. I saw you allude to the happy news on another thread and decided to check here to confirm it. I hope you have a good pregnancy and a healthy baby. Very happy for you.
Months? More like years and even decades. Baby Romani applying to college threads.
Congrats, @romanigypsyeyes!
I’m still waiting on official blood results which might come this afternoon but most likely tomorrow morning.
In the mean time, I’ve made the rounds to various doctors including the high risk OBGYN and MFM. They informed me that my tentative due date is 4/20/2020 which 1- I’m not mature enough to handle that date without laughing especially considering the very pro-pot family I come from and 2- is making this suddenly feel very real. Suddenly waiting until Friday to tell Mr R seems way more difficult but I will hold out! I think… I’ve never really surprised him before so I want to do this for him as he likes the big gestures.
@doschicos the thought of sending this little bean to college is giving me hives. Their graduation date from high school will be (assuming everything goes as normal) 2039. That doesn’t seem like a real year.
So happy for you–hoping all goes well!
I’ve been reading your helpful posts for years but just saw your original post asking for positive stories. I was going to post one (about my 20 year old twin nieces born via IVF) when I read your good news. I’m very excited for you and your husband and look forward to reading about your adventures in parenthood.
Congratulations!!
My hcg is 49. Anything above 25 is positive.
I’m officially 4 weeks (+1 day) pregnant. Again, far too early to feel safe but far enough along to be really, really happy.
The Capuchin fathers are praying for the well-being of your child.
This is so exciting! Positive thoughts are coming your way from NY.
??
The birth date does make it seem real. I don’t know how you’re managing to temper your excitement enough to keep Mr R in the dark.
I’m with you in not being mature enough to handle the 4/20/2020 without giggling. You’ll have fun watching people’s reactions.
@rhododendron by selectively letting it leak to trustworthy friends who are in on the surprise lol.
I was going to hold off on telling my parents until I saw them face to face but after i tell Mr R i dont think I’ll be able to contain it. Plus my mom will know something’s up if I’m not complaining to her about the Femara side effects. Retirement and grandbaby fever has left my mom far to intuned with everything going on. My parents have been weed legalization advocates my whole life and are now working to expunge people’s records related to marijuana since it’s legal in MI. I absolutely have to incorporate 4/20 into the reveal for them.
I go in for more bloodwork tomorrow so by thursday I’ll know if it’s progressing like they want. If so, I have a viability scan the 2nd week of September. Eeeeep too real lol
R - my first kid was due on 4/30 (Arbor Day). We told my parents and his parents on Grandparents day - which this year is Sept 8. It was pretty special
So happy for your wonderful news!!! You realize that your little one will have hundreds of surrogate aunts and uncles on this site. Wishing you and Mr. R all of the best!!!
Little Baby Mary Juana Romani.
Were you four weeks LMP (since last menstrual period) or DPO (days post ovulation) for that test? You’re fine if that’s LMP. Next step is to get a second HCG test at least 48 hours after the first one. That’ll give you the ability to calculate the critical doubling-time. You want that doubling time to be 30-50 hours (lower is better). There are online HCG calculators for that.
@doschicos. Very funny.! That gave me a good laugh ?.
@doschicos I love it
@droppedit that was LMP 3 weeks + 6 days. Little under 2 weeks DPO. I go in for my next blood test tomorrow morning
@romanigypsyeyes Congratulations! Enjoy the moment. You are pregnant! Don’t stress too much about the numbers . The doctors will monitor and results will evolve and hopefully indicate all is well. Glad your husband will find out soon so he can know as well that he may be a father in April. Best of luck!
Oh, that’s good. You’re in the middle of the range for DPO. The exact magnitude isn’t hugely important because things are changing so fast right now … basically, if you’re off by a day or two the magnitude changes significantly (that’s why websites generally give a huge “acceptable” range" for HCG on a given DPO).
On the other hand, the doubling time is largely independent of the magnitude in this stage. That’s why it’s the critical value now. That indicates proper growth of your baby.
It may not seem like it but there’s a huge battle going on inside right now. Your body is saying, “I’m ending this cycle right now”, but the baby is implanted in the lining and sending out HCG to say, “no you’re not”. As it implants deeper and breaks through blood vessels for nutrients, your body says, “I’m going to clot this breach”, but the baby sends out an anticoagulant to stop that from happening.
By 10-12 weeks, the baby is basically in complete control of your hormones. That control ends in approximately 19 years
