Romanian thread

i'm not reallya mathematician, i mean i really like maths, but i have only gone as far as the regional phase in the maths olympiad. i'm more interested in sciences like bio and chemistry, beacuse i wanna do medicine.
don't worry about the interview, people, really, it's a cool opportunity to talk to someone from your dream school. i know i was freakin' out before the interview too, but it was sooo nice that i didn't want to hang up at the end. they're great people, people who can talk about anything. and they're superpassionate about their school. or that's how my princeton interviewer was...

I asked because I know a girl named Oana from Bucharest and applying to US, but who was a mathematician. I thought maybe it was you. I like chem and bio too, but medicine does not attract me at all.

Except for Edvin, has anybody heard anything about a Harvard interview? I already heard of 4 guys who have received an email, but nothing to me...

Oana, as far as I know international students have problems studying pre-med in the US... anyway, I guess you know better what it is all this about :)

I wish I'd get to have a face2face interview for Harvard... but... no email yet

plusqueparfaite: i plan to major in bio and che and then go to med school...if i don't change my mind about it ;-)
i know a girl in my school who has a harvard interview, which is supercool, but i guess i won't have one because i sent harvard an email requesting an interview, and they said something like in romania there aren't enough interviewers...so i won't have one
but good luck to all of you applying to harvard!!

^angelutza: there are only 2 harvard interviewers in Romania. One of them - Stefan Ichim '04 - contacted me approx 10 days ago

good luck with you princeton interview, and with your applications, of course!

Did anybody else on this forum have the Princeton interview in Romanian?

i had my pton interview in english, but at the end, we talked in romanian for 5 min or so..

va urez noroc la toti!

hi thecorsair. good luck to you too. as my pton interviewer started yesterday, tell us something about yourself!

Well I live in the US, but I only came here five years ago and am also going through the application process right now.

I have my Princeton interview Saturday. :) I hope that goes well.

Hey, I have my Harvard interview this week. Has anyone had the interview with Stefan Ichim? I could really use some tips (questions, atmosphere, etc.) Oh, yeah, had my Princeton interview yesterday (phone), it went pretty well. The interviewer was cool and funny and knew a lot of stuff about Princeton.

^adrienutza7000: I have. He’s a great guy. He graduated in 2004 and double-majored in physics and electrical engineering. Don’t worry about the atmosphere, it’s nothing overly formal. As for the questions, they’re the usual; he will probably start by introducing himself and by asking you the “what can you tell us about yourself” question. Other questions you should expect are “interests/passions?” and “why United States?”. Good luck.

Whom did you have your Princeton interview with? How was it?

Any other news about Harvard interviews? Still nothing to me.

I'm getting rather pessimistic about H interview...
Oh, well.. :-<

Oh, I was wondering if any Romanians on this thread are applying to Brown or UPenn. :) Thnx

I can't believe this thread is once more on 2nd page. Where have you guys left?

I guess we're just bummed out about those H interviews, or lack thereof.

Yup, I totally agree 8-|
I have an interview this thursday, but not for H. It's for a liberal arts college.

Which LAC?

hey everyone. I'm from Ro too. yesterday I found out about this thread. I guess I'm the youngest from here...how old are you guys?
