Ron Paul for President '08

I didn't see any discussion on the elections.
What do you guys think of him?

er...I don't know him.

I'm pretty sure that he's a human.

I think he's about half of a loony.

really dont want hillary clinton to be president.

Let's make marilyn manson president!

.........wow

Wow, I didn't think the CC crowd would be so out of touch with politics...

Anyway, I want Ron Paul to win.

Because people don't favor that loony (though, I'll grant, not as loony as some others) they are out of touch with politics?

He's loony just like every other politician....except that what he's loony about tends to be more in line with what I'm loony about (MINIMAL taxes, MINIMAL govt programs, MINIMAL govt intrusion into states rights).

Not the most insightful comments...

I would just expect a bigger response for the only candidate who has provided a different perspective.

He does seem to be more of a Libertarian (which is why I said he was half of a loony), except for his record on abortion.

What's loony about him, specifically?

I'm sorry for being Canadian and not knowing everything about US politics. Really.

http://www.somethingawful.com/d/flash-tub/conspiracy-theory-911.php

Ron Paul is the best candidate in the 2008 election so far. And for those who call him loony for his platform, I don't think he's as reckless or as crazy as other political candidates who are media darlings (at least he hasn't snorted cocaine like a certain someone).

Government should only be in place to ensure that other people do not have their rights violated.

"I think the country is ready for a lady to be president. As soon as one runs I may vote for her." http://www.topix.net/forum/us-senate/hillary-clinton/T57V23EJNTJ6A0R2L Intersting qoute, i agree.

Eh, Ron Paul scares me...

And the libertarian thoughts on government is grossly oversimplified. What happens with environmental issues? Its the company's right to make a profit but, its the people living near the area's life to live in a clean atmosphere...Either way someone's rights will get hampered...The libertarians are have this Utopian theory that is unrealistic in reality. Kinda like communism , the theory is great but in reality it doesn't work.

Voting to ban embryonic stem cell research, abortion, human cloning, and gay adoption. Voting that soft-money is okay, people should be able to carry concealed firearms, immigrants should not be allowed to run for president, against minimum wage increase, against the estate tax, against network neutrality, and abolishing federal welfare.
