I JUST got my housing (finally...my gosh!), but I'm going to stop complaining because I got east quad even though I'm not in an MRC and I'm happy to be on central =)

Anyway, it says I have a deluxe double. It's 12x15...what's deluxe about that? Are most doubles really smaller than that? (What exactly does deluxe double mean, other than I pay more?)

dc you get an average of 90 sq feet(?) per person in you deluxe, while inshallah get's 80 per person on his, and I get 75 per person in my room.

You got a pretty big room. I remember hearing oxford rooms to be big, and your room is actually bigger than ours.

Deluxe pretty much just means you have a private bathroom. 12x15 is about average size for a double (South Quad/West Quad have 12x19 doubles which sometimes become "economy triples", but the doubles in Markley are only 12x12 and not very much fun).

my quad in oxford has one room with 12x24. and another with 11x12.
thats 420 sq ft in total. i guess thats 105 sq ft for each of us.
not including our private kitchen and bathroom.

i guess we got it pretty good way over here in oxford.

Has anyone else lived in a South Quad triple ? My D is in a South Quad Triple and got info that the measurements are 11 x 17. How can that be if someone else said that is the measurements of a double or "economy triple" ? When I called Housing they said that they do not make doubles into triples - that a triple will always be larger than a double. We are not being charged for an "economy triple" - just the regular "triple". I am not happy with the way they handle housing - might be why so many students move off campus after freshman year. I am surprised that they put students in these triples if they did not request them. I have heard that the East Quad triples are larger.

11x17 does seem a bit small, but that's why your daughter and her roommates are going to have to bunk their beds and even stack one bed on top of the desk and cabinet.

IMO, housing is over-priced, but it'll at least be a good experience for her. And yes, most do move off-campus after freshman year. hope everything works out for her.
