Room Setups?

I'm pretty sure some of the answer to my question has been posted before, but I can't seem to find it. Could anyone give me some sort of a synopsis of campus dorms? From what I can discern north campus is not really the desirable location, but is there at least a trade-off in that the north dorms are better? A general description of the pros/cons of residence halls would be great!

Also, I really like the idea of a loft in my room, is that a common choice there, or not so much. I read the website about lofts and that block furniture stuff, but still don't have much of an idea of how wide-spread the option of lofting is. It sounds like some rooms are loft-available, others have the block furniture, and some just don't allow it at all. How likely am I to be able to have a room whith this option?
thanks!

Most dorms have the building block furniture. You can't replace it with lofts - but you can loft it.

IMO, the dorms on North Campus are better - the location might not be, but the dorms themselves are. They're building a new food thing in Bursley that is going to be really nice for kids in Bursley and Baits.
