I was assigned a single in the transfer community on the first floor of Schuyler. I'm transferring from very close to Cornell and have already done some coursework and made friends there, so I feel that I wouldn't enjoy the community as much as others might.

I'm looking to do a one on one room swap with someone who got assigned to west campus. I would prefer to swap for a single, but I would consider a double as well.

If anyone is skeptical, read this article: Study Finds Transfers Feel Marginalized on Campus | The Cornell Daily Sun . It shows that transfers had an overwhelmingly more positive experience through transfer community housing, so much so that they reinstated years after its removal due to budget constraints.

i’ve heard that the rooms are bigger because it is usually graduate housing. that sounds like the way to go but i have a friend who i committed to being roommates with. sorry, but good luck!

as this is the first year they are doing this, it’s still left to be seen…

but you are right in your assessment…you already know ithaca and dont really need the same attention as a typical transfer BUT i’d assume schuyler would be more social than a west campus dorm room…

where people are already signed up with friends

I thought the transfers were taking over lots of west campus…why the hell are they putting people in Schuyler? I haven’t even ever heard of it. Do you know how many transfers will be there? That’s definitely not cool, especially after they just built 5 new dorms on West.

someone correct me if i am mistaken…but those 5 new dorms built consist of far less rooms than were available when the gothics were still around?

why didnt cornell consider building taller dorms?
