Roomate Selection

My best friend and I are both going to Cal and we selected each other for roomates and picked our preferences in the same order. What are the chances that we will actually dorm together? Does anybody know how the system works?

no, but I do know chances are very high that you two will be rooming together.

they give preference to you guys if you have the same answers in the questionnare. but the lottery is pretty tricky if BOTH of you guys get really high numbers since space fills pretty quickly and the last spots are the ones no one likes. nevertheless, i know many people who chose one another as roommates and they got their wishes granted.

good luck

Does anyone know how much higher the chance is in getting to dorm with a friend with a Regents scholarhsip? I have Regents, but my friend does not.

from what i've experienced, regents scholars usually get their first choice on the 1-5 choices of the preferences, which means your friend/roommate probably would get that room as well (b/c of your regents status)
