Roomates? Dorms?

I heard that at least in 6th college, every double will be a triple and every single will be a double. Is this true?

I signed up for a double, which means I will get a triple?

Also, when do we hear about this ****? Its only a month away from mov-in day and I don't know who my roomate(s) is/are or where I am assigned.

i think they tell us our roomates in sept

for muir i got an email asking if i wanted a single since i guess too many people requested doubles. too bad i'm declining their offer...i want the roommate experience

A single would be awesome. You do not lose the "roommate experience" thanks to fact that you'll be living in suites.

Also, a single is too small for two people. Impossible to turn a single into a double.

also, it would be kind of crazy to turn sixth's doubles into triples since they are already too small... where did you get that info kendallh?

ucsdhopeful, are you serious? Singles are great. The only real downside in my opinion is paying extra, which is a very big downside.

ucsdhopeful:

I got the same e-mail as you and decline it for the same reason. Funny thing is that I kept reading that people wanted singles... Guess not enough people, eh?

Well, doesn't Muir have the most singles? Also, finances were probably an issue for most people. If singles didn't cost extra, I'm positive they'd all be filled.

Has anyone come across a list of appliances we can have in our dorms? I know we can have fridges and mircowaves and such, but what about toasters and those types of things?

still, i've had roommates plenty of times for extended periods of time (well, a week each time) and i've had so much fun with them...if i give myself the option of locking myself in the room, i won't meet new people, i can almost guarantee you.

it's only 500 extra per YEAR. that's not bad at all.

500 is a lot. That is dollars on the day.
