<p>It is perfectly fine to be worried about what kind of roommate you will have in college. More than likely you will have a pretty average roommate and you will get along just fine. Will you be best of friends? No one knows, you cant force friendship.</p>

<p>I had 1 roommate and 2 suitemates my freshman year…my roommate and I got along, but I wouldn’t say we were best friends. She was extremely quiet and it was pretty much like having a single. She never minded my clutter as long as I kept it on my side of the room. Neither of us had a boyfriend, so we didn’t have to worry about that issue.</p>
<p>My suitemates were pretty much half and half…one of them I am now best friends with, and the other, we just never “clicked”. We get along okay now that we don’t live together anymore, but I doubt that we’ll ever really be good friends. And we’re both okay with that.</p>
<p>My sophomore year I had a single, but I had 5 suitemates. 2 of the girls I got along with very well, 2 of the girls I was still pretty friendly with and 1 girl went crazy and decided she hated me and the 2 girls I got along with. The interesting thing about the crazy girl is that she was the only one in the house that none of us really knew that well, and she hated SSU (she transfered after the end of the year). </p>
<p>I think as long as you don’t expect to be your roommate’s best friend, and can be mature and talk out your problems (both when they happen and BEFORE they happen), you’ll be just fine.</p>
<p>I had a ton in common with my roommate last year and we still hated each others guts. Best not to sweat it until you know what you’re dealing with. Walking in with expectations is just a recipe for disappointment.</p>
<p>It’s probably better to just room with someone you know from high school. One of my friends got paired with a random, and he completely hates him… Anyways, although I don’t like to admit it, my roommate and I are best friends. We share a lot of the same friends and have a lot of the same interests.</p>
