I just found out my roommate is going to be studying abroad for the spring semester. What happens to the room? Do I get stuck with someone I don't know? I certainly hope not.

yea mine too. i might just study abroad as well

You might or might not...people come back from fall study abroad need places to live

Is it too late to get to sign up for study abroad for spring?

you may just end up having the room to yourself next semester. happened to one of my friends.

and studying abroad first year is probably not the best idea. at least wait until sophomore year.

I am a sophomore. A single would be great, but with housing being what it is at NYU, I really don't think that the school would miss a chance to get another 12 grand from someone who wanted/needed housing.

Does anyone know if you can still look to go aboard for the spring?

yaka, unless things have changed recently, the deadline for application to spring study abroad programs is mid-September. Everyone my daughter knew who had a roommate leave for spring, did indeed get a new roommate. I think those who ended up with a room to themselves are definitely the exception, and it shouldn't be expected for that to happen.

Yea, the deadline shouldn't be up yet.

Agree with NYU housing being a nightmare.

the final listed deadline is oct. 15, but you can apply after that accor. to the website.
