Roommates

Any suggestions about finding a roommate for Fall 2014? I was looking at the tandem properties roommate matching program but have heard really mixed reviews about their complexes…any insights?

I formerly lived at Anderson Place, which is one of the complexes owned by Tandem Properties. In my experience, I had a pretty decent experience with that complex. There were some things that bothered me, but they didn’t take away from my overall experience.

You can try uloop.com to find roommates if you don’t want to use a matching program.

In terms of tandem apartments, I’ve lived at The Colleges (subleased for summer session) and Russell Park. In my experience, neither one has the best management, but they’re on campus so it’s worth it. Russell Park is superior in my opinion simply because it’s so much cheaper. The Colleges are a bit nicer but definitely not worth $700+ per room. I’ll probably be staying at Russell Park next year unless I can find a house close to campus.

This school is my first choice. I applied and am waiting to hear like collegegirl I assume has done as well. I would love to figure out if we can find roommates once/if admitted I think that would be really cool to be able to do that.

@ Ghiigh33: UC Davis does not have an official roommate matching program like other schools do, but once you get a UC Davis email address (which you set up yourself once you’ve been accepted. Don’t worry, you’ll receive instructions on how to do so), you can join the community Groups at Davis on Facebook, and then from there, you can find and join a group of people who are also looking for potential roommates to live with (the name of the group changes every year, but the first place you can look is the Class of ____ group, where the blank is either your first year at Davis or the year you expect to graduate).
