What's life like at the Rose Hill Campus? How's the social and party scene? Are there lots of commuters? Thanks.

I don't know but the pictures of buildings online look pretty creepy.

creepy> which ones...the old brick ones? or the more modern ones

the old brick one. I saw the library and I think one of the dorms. They looked really cold and haunted. lol. but seriously...

I normally don't like to get involved with the info on the boards, as I believe it's more for future and current students and not "old" parents like myself. There can be, however, some disinformation about alma mater Fordham at times. Subsequently, I would like to set the record straight about the aesthetics of the Rose Hill Campus.

To each his own when it comes to taste in architecture, but it is widely admitted that the Rose Hill Campus is among one of the most beautiful in the country. In support of this, myriad advertisements and movies (Love Story and even part of the Exorcist, albeit a small part) have been filmed on campus. More recently, the Verdict, the Quiz Show, and I believe, the Kinsey Report.

One of the greatest pick-me-ups I had as an undergraduate on Rose Hill was walking around the campus - in any season - and admiring the setting and the buildings. (And I grew up in New England at an Ivy League School!). So the only thing creepy about Rose Hill is maybe that a small part of the Exorcist was filmed in Hughes Hall.

To be sure, there are other beautiful college campuses, but RH is among those that can be breathtaking, especially when you contrast it with the hustle and bustle of Fordham Road. That dichotomy is, in fact, one of the chief reasons why students are often drawn to Fordham.

I hope my daugther will feel the same way in September.

I think the campus is beautiful, and asked about which buildings the person found "creepy" because I couldn't imagine which ones!!!

Okay, some buildings built in the 70s, well, on any campus, they creep me out!!

My D wasnt sure she was interested in a traditional campus, but when she visited Fordham, she really liked it

Citygirlsmom - Comments weren't at all directed to you.
And by the way, the McGinley Center (aka the Campus Center) isn't creepy but ugly. It is affectionately called the 5 urinals.

well, i didn't mean to offend. The pictures on the net may be misleading. but like i said before, i haven't visited the campus yet. so....

I didn't think the were, just wanted to clarify ;)

=)

haha thanks for making my day

ok enough about the buildings

can someone answer the originial question?
