Rose Hill vs. Lincoln Center

What are the pros and cons of both campuses? Is one harder to get into than the other?

Since this is a huge involved question that you will largely need to figure out yourself, I’ll try to give a brief overview.
If you are looking for housing LC is harder to get into because there is not much housing available. It also has a much smaller student body. However, you apply to both campuses on the same app and they are considered by the same admissions reps.
RH is a much MUCH bigger campus with traditional collegiate buildings, quads, etc. LC likes to say it is the “vertical campus” because it depends greatly on its location. It only has two buildings, the dormitory and the academic building. It focuses on it’s central (and incredible) Manhattan location to provide students with entertainment.
With these two campuses you need to decide what draws you in more, would you rather a traditional college experience or an urban, metropolitan, largely independent college experience.
If you list specific things you want out of college posters could explain how they apply to each campus.

Lots of previous threads on this topic in the Fordham archives. Look there. In short, FCLC is in Manhattan, a sort of mini NYU, with lots of drama/theatre majors, though its a complete LAC. Its small and essentially in one large high rise building at Lincoln Center, adjacent to the Law School. Rose Hill is a classic college campus, gothic buildings, dorms, sports facilities and open green lawns, in the Bronx next to the Botanical Gardens and Bronx Zoo, and Little Italy on Arthur Ave. Rose Hill is about 5,000 undergrads.

The standards for admission are basically the same. Students can take classes at either campus. RamVan service is provided between campuses. But the chances for admission at Rose Hill may be a touch easier because they have more spaces available. i.e. dorm space.

Thanks! how would I look for the archives?

^^^ tool bar above, “search forums”.

k thanks…I heard there’s a van that goes between the two campuses…does anyone know how efficient it is and how often it runs?

The Ramvan is great! It runs exactly on schedule every time, every half hour to be exact. It can take anywhere from 20 minutes up to get between the campuses depending on time of day and traffic. It’s a truly great resource. It costs $3 each way, but if you’re taking it for a class it’s free.

oh i see…do a lot of people at Lincoln Center take a class at Rose Hill? I also heard that Lincoln center has a development project going on…is that true?

Yes. Its HIGHLY efficient and runs almost 24/7. Its often got student drivers who are on work-study. Its the go to source for transportation to LaGuardia and JFK as well. When using it to attend a class at the other campus, its free. Otherwise there is a nominal charge. Lots of kids use it to return to Rose Hill after a dinner/theatre night out in Manhattan. Its safe and very, very dependable. Its a great feature of Fordham, by the way. I know plenty of kids taking courses at “the other campus.” And if you are at LC and want to attend basketball games or football games at Rose Hill, then the RamVan is the best way to do that. (Otherwise its the D train-subway, or Metro North from Grand Central Terminal).

If you go to the Fordham website at Fordham.edu, you can find the link to the Excelsior capital campaign fund, which is 500 million dollars and they have raised a significant portion of that already. That campaign is designed to fund significant construction projects at Lincoln Center and at Rose Hill. Rose Hill is set to open new dorms for Seniors this may/summer which is part of that campaign project. The plans are awesome for Lincoln Center including a totally new Law School.
