My S was accepted!!! So excited.

^ to Ross...sorry

Shoot...I didn't get a decision, but I did get an email saying that:"We are still in the process of reviewing the large and talented pool of Preferred Admission applicants......we will give you a decision no later than April 16th" Whatcha think guys, good or bad? I was accepted Early Response, so I don't think timing was an issue? Any speculators?

congrats to kikimonster and tallmom's son! would you like to post your/your son's stats so we know what the standard is about? lol

congratulations! no email for me =(. Though possibly the fact that UMich lost my teacher rec and I resent it after the 1/4 deadline might have hurt my chances (if not throwing me out completely). O well, hopefully i'll get an acceptance email later, but thankfully I've got some other colleges to choose from.

ACCEPTED!!!!!! I can honestly say I was VERY surprised. I was rejected from honors the other day and did not want to get my hopes up, but this was quite possibly the best feeling I've had in a while.

ACT - 32, UM GPA 3.7, pretty good essay.

got in, just checked my email. 2310, good EC's essays, 2300+ SATII's, asian, nj

well then again, i haven't even heard from UMich LSA yet lol. so i guess i'll be gettin a 4/15 response from Ross, even if it is a rejection.

microdragon..same ship as you..havent even heard from LSA...atleast we have each other..i was starting to think I would be the only one.

quite a depressing ship, though having others on board makes it less so. UMich's admissions committee sure is taking its sweet time though... Everyone except 2 girls (1 legacy and 1 who applied in like late september) at my school got deferred (i applied too late to actually get a deferral). Some of the people that got deferred already got into colleges like Dartmouth and such. UMich has proven itself to be quite a puzzle. Good luck to you amyank. Maximum of 2 weeks left!

Good luck to you too microdragon. It is true, Michigan has been quite ambiguous with their movements. I'm starting to become less worried myself though, with all the rejections I've been recieving. What's the worse that can happen here, be rejected. Honestly, I'd be content if I just made LSA and had to apply Ross while at Michigan. It is was it is. We can only wait. I hope your content with your other schools. It'll all work out for the best. Hopefully the decisions will come sooner then later.

ya, a rejection isn't all that bad. I'm still waiting on USC (Marshall), but i got villanova's bschool, and indiana's Kelley in my pocket amongst a few others but those r my top at the moment.

Well that's good for you than, to not have to hold your breathe for Michigan. Villanova waitlisted me. I was gonna apply to Indiana but I just didn't have the desire to do any more applications back then. USC would be awesome if you get in there. Does Michigan become your first choice if you get into Ross PA? Or even if its just LSA?

bleh, rejected with a large wave of other kids on college confidential today by USC. Ross would be my first choice if i get PA, but LSA i'd have to debate it.

What's so bad about staying in LSA for a year and then applying to Ross? That's what more than 90% of the kids do.

It's not like you don't have another opportunity to get in. The BBA program is 3 years anyway and your b-school classes start in sophomore year.

it's not bad at all. If I had PA, i'd basically just drop thought of any of the other colleges and enroll by the next day. Admissions sophmore year almost double, but there's still that chance I don't get in sophmore year. So my train of thought is, if I don't get preferred admit, why not just attend IU or VU, both of which have good business programs (though neither are as good as Ross) and possibly reapply at the end of freshman year as a transfer. This way if i'm not admitted again, i'll still be able to continue an education in business. Do you know if it hurts my chances if I apply from another college?

i'm not sure how many apply, but i'm pretty sure there's only like 4 or so people in my ross bba class (2010) who transferred in from another school. it can be done, but its much harder to get in than it would be applying from lsa/engineering

you can just forget about applying to Ross as a transfer. If you couldn't get in as a Pre-admit, there's no chance in hell you'll be able to transfer next year.

If you don't get in Ross, you can always major in Econ. That's still better than business at IU or VU.

hm.. thanks for the info umich2010. Yeah, staying in LSA and trying for Ross during regular admissions is very tempting indeed...

does anyone know the ross acceptance rate or how many students are in ross
