Is that GPA unweighted?
You should definitely give it a try although it is very competitive.

@billcsho Yes. My school’s GPA scale is very weird. An A in an AP class is a 4.3…so it is virtually impossible to have anything higher than a 4.1 since AP classes aren’t widely offered until Junior year. My transcripts will show all A’s though, if that’s what you’re asking.

All A means 4.0 for UMich anyway. That’s great. The admission rate should be beliw 18% this year, but you are a competitive candidate.

@billcsho‌, the admission rate was actually 11.4% of people that got into Umich. https://michiganross.umich.edu/sites/default/files/uploads/Programs/BBA/pdfs/bba_studentprofiles_14.pdf

That being said, you have a great shot. Would not be surprised if you get in.

@YellowWolverine Thanks for the update. I have not seen the 2014 data until your link. It seems both CoE and Ross have their admission rate dropped 33% from 2013.

@billcsho‌ Do you by chance know the COE acceptance rate and data from the last admissions cycle?

@YellowWolverine Alexandre has posted the partial CoE admission stat here. Admission rate is ~20% and the ACT median/average is 33. I have not seen the official numbers yet.

@billcsho‌ @YellowWolverine‌ Thanks for the feedback. Would either of you be able to shed any light on the likely hood of receiving merit aid? I am an out of state student and my family can not afford it at the current price.

@Localdreamer15 What is y our uwGPA?

@billcsho‌ I am not sure if UMich recalculates GPA if that is what you’re asking. I’ll do my best to explain. My school’s report cards are graded on a 100 point scale, then that grade is loosely translated to a gpa (ex. I think 92+ is a 4.0…kinda dumb, I know). I have not gotten below a 92-93(as far as I can remember) in any class and would have to guess my overall average would be somewhere around a 94-95.

@Localdreamer15 Then it should be 4.0. Your ACT score is great and you should be around the threshold for scholarships.

@Localdreamer15‌ Hard to say. Lots of PA’s had around your stats and most of them didn’t get substantial merit aid. It is hard to say. I think you’ll get merit aid, but not enough to significantly lower the price tag. That being said, it’s hard to say. I’m honestly not sure what criteria they use to award merit aid; it’s just an observance that lots of kids around your stats didn’t get merit aid more than a couple thousand dollars.
